Patrick Casabuena is a photographer from Muntinlupa City, Philippines. His first experiences with taking pictures were primarily for documenting family events and trips to remember. He would, for hours get lost looking at old family portraits and snapshots. It was always only limited to photographs of family.

Aside from basic workshops and learning simple technicalities in photography, he is a self-taught photographer, mostly relying on books, videos, and other people’s images to further enrich his practice. His photographic works revolve around playing with technical taboos in traditional photography such as digital hyper saturation and cropping; and are influenced largely by Matisse and Wolfgang Tillmans. Using these techniques, he combines photographs into an image that would stand on its own.
